Profile
Welcome to the profile of Bob Hall, an artist with BoundlessGallery.com.
Bob is a naturalist painter. By definition, according to Acland Art Museum, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, naturalistic artwork is "representational art in which the artist presents a personal interpretation of visual reality while retaining the natural appearance of the objects depicted. Naturalism varies from artist to artist, depending on the degree and kind of interpretation."Bob spent most of his life in the East Tennessee region. The backdrop for his artwork comes from this area and surrounding states. Bob enjoys painting landscapes and occasionally portraits.
Bob began painting back in high school. The medium of oils, not acrylics nor pastels, was his original choice for painting. However, after his studio (bedroom) and the rest of the house absorbed the smell of turpentine and paint fumes, he decided to switch to acrylics. This was a very smart decision, at least, according to his family. Later, Bob began to dabble in pastels, and did so without any local complaints. Concerning the business side of Bob’s art, Holly, his wife, lends a busy hand keeping the books.
